I hope he stays. He's a good keeper but still needs to work on a few parts of his game. He has a tendancy to punch the ball over choosing a simple catch, and looks very fragile when facing shots from outside the box, position wise. However that might just be us being picky as Nigel Martyn was immense for us before he had to retire.
Man U have 4 great keepers in Howard, Foster, Kuszack and Van Der Sar and at at least one of the first two will be sold in the summer as there isnt room for them, I'd expect that to be Howard due to Foster having age more on his side.

Good deal for both parties.
Howard is having definately more opportunites than he'd have at Man Utd.

He was at one time the best keeper in the Premiership. He looks to be regaining his old confidence and theres no reason why he cant be mentioned in the same breath as Casillas, Buffon and Cech when speaking of world class keepers.

RECAP: MIDWEEK ENGLISH ACTION

Johnson loaned to struggling Leeds

Frankie Simek picked up in assist in Sheffield Wednesday's loss at Luton, while Tim Howard and Everton suffered a late Tottenham winner at home.

Everton 1-2 Tottenham

A late Jermaine Jenas strike gave Tottenham all three points against Everton at Goodison Park.

As is customary, Tim Howard started in goal for the Toffees.

Dimitar Berbatov scored his 15th goal of the season in the 35th minute to give Spurs the lead.

Seven minutes later, Everton drew even when Mikel Arteta delivered a deft free kick from 25 yards.

With the final whistle nearing, each team looked poised to earn a point.

However, Jenas earned Spurs the victory when he fired a 20-yard blast past Howard with a minute remaining.

Everton will travel to Vicarage Road to face Jay DeMerit and Watford on Saturday.

Leeds United 0-0 Queens Park Rangers

Jemal Johnson made his debut in Leeds' 0-0 stalemate with Queens Park Rangers.

Eddie Lewis also played for United, going the distance at left back.

Leeds had their best chance three minutes into the second half when David Healy was in alone on goal, but Rangers goalkeeper Lee Camp was up to the task blocking his effort.

In the 18 minutes that Johnson played, he was unable to muster any chances on goal.

Leeds will travel to Wolverhampton on Saturday.

Luton 3-2 Sheffield Wednesday

Frank Simek earned an assist in Sheffield Wednesday's 3-2 loss to Luton.

The American defender assisted on the game's first goal. A cross from Simek found Deon Burton, who beat Marlon Beresford to give the Owls the lead.

Bjorn Runstrom tied the game eight minutes later.

In the first 15 minutes of the second half, Luton and Sheffield both scored to keep the score level.

Luton were able to grab all the points when Drew Talbot beat Mark Crossley to score his first goal for the club in the 63rd minute.

Wednesday will host Southend on Saturday.

Carlisle 0-0 Chesterfield

Johann Smith was denied a late winner by the referee's whistle in a stalemate with Chesterfield.

The Connecticut-born forward played all 90 minutes for the first time since joining Carlisle on loan from Bolton.

In the game's waning moments, Carlisle midfielder Joe Garner's shot was saved by Chesterfield goalkeeper Barry Roche; Smith put the rebound home, but the referee disallowed the goal due to an offside violation.

Carlisle head to Cheltenham on Saturday.

Notes

Injured defender Zak Whitbread was not involved in Millwall's 5-2 loss to Leyton Orient.
