Yeh was really unlucky, he went from hero to zero in the space of a minute. Felt sorry for him. 8bo:

It’s been many years since I scored but I don’t even want to talk about it because it’s irrelevant now."
-- Goalkeeper Brad Friedel, who scored to give Birmingham a short-lived equalizer against Charlton. (The Sun)

Saw his goal and the volley that won the game on EPL Review last night, was an awsum volley that went over his head, still touched by the big american but still went into the corner. Th back line gave up 2 of the goals.
(same with Keller, 1 guy choked on 2 back passes)
was very cool to see the players mob him after his goal, my impression is he is well liked by the team.

Brad hasn't had his best year -- but still a great keeper.

Big Brad missed his first game this year with a pulled groin muscle.
Bummer since he was playing against Keller, who got the shut-out.
Looks like Keller gets a start in all games this year.

Brad definitely was on the top of his game. We need to get him in net instead of Keller for qualifying.

Brad Friedel announces retirement
after a great run in the World Cup 02, Brad Friedel announces retirement,
After a great deal of thought, consideration and discussion I have decided that now is the right time to bring to a close my time representing the U.S. The English Premier League is incredibly demanding and over the remaining years of my professional career, I want to give myself the best possible chance to continue to play at the highest level for my club."
-- Goalkeeper Brad Friedel, 33, announcing his retirement from the U.S. national team. (Reuters)

He was a class act and a very good keeper, sad to see him go but luckily a position where we have some depth. Pretty good when someone like Howard gets left of the qualifier squad.
