JEFFREY FINALLY SIGNS ON WITH BRUGGE

Texan Jared Jeffrey signed a professional contract with Club Brugge of the Jupiler League, joining Oguchi Onyewu of Standard Liege and Greg Dalby of Charleroi in Belgium's top division.

"Yes, he signed for Club Brugge for three years," a spokeswoman for the team's General Secretary, Jacques De Nolf, who is currently on vacation confirmed to YA. "He was finally eligible to join since he is now 18."

Jeffrey, who joined the team earlier this year was only able to officially sign with the team which will take part in the UEFA Cup, after celebrating his 18th birthday on Saturday.

Non-European Union member country residents must be 18 years of age in order to sign professional contracts.

The three year contract also has an option for two additional years.

The midfielder, who is a product of US Soccer's Residency Program and played for the U-17s, trained in Turkey with the reserve team before the decision was made to make him a permanent fixture for the Flemish
