Nacional, who beat Naval 2-1 at home on Sunday, and Sporting were the only two sides in the league who maintained their 100 percent record with six points from two matches.
Helder Postiga clinched the victory for the Lisbon side, tapping home a cross from the right by defender Abel after four minutes.
Braga played the last seven minutes with 10 men after defender Joao Pereira was sent-off for a foul on Sporting captain Joao Moutinho.
Champions Porto, who drew 1-1 at Benfica on Saturday, are level on four points with Vitoria Setubal and Vitoria Guimaraes.
