Default Kaunas progress in CL qualifier

FBK Kaunas secured a comfortable first leg victory in the first stage of Champions League qualifiers and look set to face Rangers in the next round.

The Lithuanian outfit cruised to a 4-1 win in Andorra against Santa Coloma.

Linas Pilibaitis, who had a loan spell at Hearts, netted twice for the visitors, as did Brazilian forward Rafael Rodrigues Ledesma.

The second leg is played on 22 July, with the winners travelling to Ibrox eight days later.

Alex Rodriguez was on target for Santa Coloma, who also missed a penalty kick.

Rangers, who will have to negotiate a third round qualifier as well, are aiming to reach the group stages of the Champions League for the eighth time.
