Islanders climb to second
Puerto Rico wins in Portland and Charleston

Thursday, July 10: The Puerto Rico Islanders continued their dramatic rise up the league table with a 2-0 victory in Portland Thursday night to move into a tie for third place with the Timbers.
Friday, July 11: Rochester were 1-0 winners over Seattle while Carolina and Minnesota played to a 2-2 draw.
Saturday, July 12: The Puerto Rico Islanders continued their run up the table, downing the league-leading Battery in Charleston 3-1 to move up to second. The Silverbacks were edged late 2-1 by Argentine first division side Independiente in a friendly.
Sunday, July 13: The defending champion Seattle Sounders earned a narrow 1-0 victory in Montreal Sunday afternoon. Miami extended its unbeaten streak to nine games with its eighth shutout during the stretch in a 0-0 draw at Rochester. In the final game of the night, Vancouver equalized a minute after Carolina scored to force a 1-1 draw.

Friday, July 11: Both USL-2 games were ties with the Hogges and Monarchs going scoreless while Harrisburg and Western Mass finished 1-1.
Saturday, July 12: Cleveland, Richmond and Charlotte, who clinched a playoff berth Friday with other results, all netted victories to increase their lead atop the table.
Three-team trade in USL-1
Four players swapped in midseason deal


United Soccer Leagues confirmed last week a three-team trade that saw four players from the Carolina RailHawks, Portland Timbers and Rochester Rhinos switch teams at the midway point of the USL First Division season. Carolina added Rochester's Hamed Diallo, Rochester received Portland's Andrew Gregor and the Timbers brought in Carolina's Jamil Walker and Rochester's Chase Harrison. All three field players saw action on the weekend with Diallo posting two assists for Carolina. [+]
