Stein: "The UEFA Cup is a little gift"

Hertha BSC's new signing Marc Stein had reason to celebrate in the training camp. Here's what he had to say about the upcoming season.

Question: Pre-season isn't the best of times for a footballer, but it's part of the game, isn't it?

Marc Stein: Yes, of course. We have to work hard to acquire the foundations. The more you do here the more you profit over the course of the season.

Question: You joined Hertha from Rostock. What are your goals for the season?

Stein: We have to improve on last season. A lot depends on the start. We have to start well, then we could attack at the top.

Question: There's also the UEFA Cup to look forward to...

Stein: There will be some tough opponents in the UEFA Cup, and of course we mustn't underestimate Nistru. But the UEFA Cup is a little gift. We have to take along as much as we can. In the Bundesliga we have an away game first, and we want to show that we can play better on the road as last season.
