Apparently, Roma haven't approached Baptista.

Agent To Roma: Call Me If You Want Baptista
Julio Baptista’s agent Herminio Menendez has told Roma to make a move if they want him but he admits that the Giallorossi have not made enquiries so far.
Roma are currently looking for a second striker to play alongside Mirko Vucinic next season and Julio Baptista could be the answer.
The Brazilian hit-man is looking unsettled at Real Madrid and reports claim he wants out of the Bernabeu as he is unhappy at playing second fiddle to Ruud Van Nistelrooy.
The Giallorossi need to strengthen up front if they are to challenge for the Champions League and Scudetto next term but Baptista's agent has told Roma that they need to make a move for the player as he will not arrive unless prompted.
“Roma have not called me yet and neither have Madrid,” Menendez told Il Romanista.
“Until either club call me, we will not know what happens next.
“If Roma want Baptista then they should come forward.
“The Brazilian wants €3m per season and I know that Villarreal were told he will cost €24m”
It seems unlikely that Roma will take such a huge gamble on the player.
The Giallorossi have a salary cap of €2.5m and €24m seems a target too far for the club's transfer kitty to stretch to.
