Stuttgart's opponents in UEFA Intertoto-Cup

Stuttgart's sixth place in the last Bundesliga has won the club a slot in the next UEFA Intertoto-Cup competition.

Coach Armin Veh's Stuttgart have a bye into the third round where they will meet either Luxemburg's Etzella Ettelbrück, Georgian side Lokomotive Tiflis or Russia's Saturn Ramenskoje.

Lokomotive Tiflis in by "Special UEFA-Permission"

In the second round, the Russians comes up against the winner of the first round clash between Ettelbrück and Tiflis. The winner of that second round match will meet VfB Stuttgart.

Lokomotive Tiflis will be in the competition representing Georgia by "Special Permission" from UEFA, even though they only came tenth in the Georgian championships. The teams above Tiflis don't fulfil other UEFA conditions to take part.

Third round IU matches in July

The third round games in the Intertoto cup will be played on 19 and 20 July with the return matches on 26 and 27 July. Irrespective who they play, Stuttgart's first game will be away. UEFA is due to announce the precise dates for the third round at midday on Monday 14 July.
