If we were to sell Lampard which I would never do...I would rather not buy Deco and I would buy Van der Vaart and make sure that Mikel plays at dm for nearly all the matches. And play Makelele in the big important games.

So something like this:

Essien.............VdV/Ballack
..........Mikel/Makelele........
