Apparently he has been offered a new contract and really thinking about it especially because of the way that we reacted to his mom's death...

After being rested from travelling to Trinidad and Tobago for the tiring and, in our opinion, total waste of time international, rumours are starting to emerge about Frank`s new contract details.

With Jose Mourinho lurking menacingly in the wings, one leading tabloid has suggested that Chelsea are prepared to offer Frank a three year contract worth £130,000 a week.

The deal would, if the figures quoted are correct, put Frank on a par with club captain John Terry. However, the three year deal wouldn`t match the current length of Terry`s contract.

The tabloid also goes on to report that Frank is giving the offer serious consideration citing the fact that the way he was treated by the club, after the sad and untimely death of his mother, is swaying him towards staying.

Now we here at Vital Chelsea have two points to make.

The first relates to Frank staying. Surely, this should be a done and dusted proposition. Frank has always intimated that Chelsea is his club, that the fans are his people and that he wanted to finish his career in a blue shirt.

The second relates to the salary. If Frank considers £130,000 a week to be insufficient reward for his skills then I really do fear for the future of football! Things really are out of control.

If in doubt Frank, simply ask yourself it`d take, in years, those who shout and scream Chelsea on every week to earn such a salary?

Years, is the answer, years!
