Rehab game for Pedro Martinez later
Vs Tampa Bay Rays #1 pick David Price.

Future Hall-of-Fame pitcher Pedro Martinez is expected to take on up-and-coming prospect David Price at 7 tonight when the St. Lucie Mets host the Vero Beach Devil Rays at Tradition Field.

Martinez is making what is expected to be his only rehab start for St. Lucie before returning to the New York Mets. The Mets have said that Martinez is scheduled to pitch against the Giants in San Francisco on June 3.

Martinez pitched 3 1/3 innings against the Florida Marlins on April 1, but injured his hamstring during the game. The three-time Cy Young Award winner has been rehabbing in Port St. Lucie and the Dominican Republic ever since.

Price, meanwhile, was the top overall draft pick last season, and the Rays prospect is expected to be on the fast track to the majors. He pitched five innings of shutout ball Thursday night to earn a 2-0 win against Clearwater in his first start of the season after missing time with a strained left elbow.

Tickets tonight are $6 for adults, $4 for seniors/kids, with soda products, hot dogs and beer (for those 21 and older) going for $1.
