A poll of 268 league players has been published in Kicker magazine on Monday, naming Frank Ribery the Bundesliga player of the year.

Ribery won 57.8 percent of the vote, well ahead of his Bayern Munich team mate Luca Toni of Italy, the league's leading scorer, who came in second place with 24.8 percent.

Werder Bremen ace Diego, a Brazilian playmaker, completed an all-foreign top-three with 8.5 percent.

25-year-old Robery has made a big impact at Bayern despite injury problems since switching from Marseille last year. Bayern bagged their 21st Bundesliga title and also won the German Cup.
