Manucho is probably a year or so away from being ready for the EPL. This is about the time of year I jump back on my Huntelaar soapbox, so I won't break with tradition this year either ...
I don't think Owen would be a good buy (even at 7m) since he would not really add anything new to the forward line. Berbatov just does not seem to have the fire and drive to take him to the next level, not to mention that the price tag would probably involve a possible bidding war, and I don't think anyone wants another Ronaldinho saga. Peter Crouch? Thanks, but no thanks. Aston Villa are going to strongly resist any attempts to lure players away from Villa Park over the summer.
In all honesty, if Anelka is available at something resembling a reasonable price, he might be a decent option, however - would Chelsea really sell a player to United?
So ... back to Huntelaar ... proven scorer in the Eredivisie, young, quick and a poacher. He would be another building block in what already looks to be an incredibly promising future at Old Trafford.
