First half was as bad a half of football from both sides as I have seen this season, no urgency or cohesion whatsoever. We picked up a lot after the break but wasted too many chances. Thankfully El Nino's "hamstring injury" didnt keep him out and he was able to make a mug out of Dunne and get the winner.

Insua got a game today at left back but I cant see Benitez using him as a regular. He didnt have a great game to be honest, barely went over the halfway line and got done for pace on a few occasions too. I think a new left back is paramount this summer, neither Riise or Aurelio or good enough or consistent enough, and the options that Arsenal & United get through their full backs cant be ignored.

City fans were really supportive of Eriksson today, similar scenes to what happened with Benitez earlier in the season. I dont think it will have the same effect though!

Interesting that Crouch, Pennant, Alonso & Riise were all left out today also. I expected a shadow side, but it was a fairly strong one, and these players being left out may be a sign of summer action. In Pennant & Riise's case, i certainly hope so. Although Voronin and Kuyt did get action, shudder.
