Scolari, in comments reported by the Lusa news agency, added: "I have a deal with Portugal but I hope I'll be in a position to take a decision on my future soon."
Scolari took over as Portugal coach in January 2003 after leading Brazil to 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan glory.
And Felipćo, who turned down a chance to become England coach after the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany, has not ruled out extending his contract with Portugal to lead them at South Africa 2010.
