The Brazilian full-back is keen to leave the Andalucian club to further his career and the Blaugrana have offered him a five-year contract at triple his current salary.

With that offer on the table, Alves' representative, José Rodríguez Baster, Rodri, has said that Barça must now agree a fee with Sevilla for things to start moving.

"If we had the key to the operation then it would be a lot easier, but unfortunately that depends on Sevilla as it is they that must set the asking price," Rodri explained.

"We are at the same point as last season. There are a lot of interested clubs and each time we receive something we pass it on to Sevilla.

"But I do not know anything more as Sevilla have told me nothing.

"Barça have asked if Dani would sign for them next season if they reached an agreement with Sevilla, but I do not know if they have even begun to negotiate. If they do, then we would be wiling to sit down with them.

"In these cases we are always left in the middle. Last year Dani was outstanding for Sevilla and this year he has continued in the same way.

"The boy knows exactly what to do and I understand perfectly what he wants.

"If anyone asks me if Barcelona have reached an agreement with Sevilla then I would say I imagine not, because Sevilla have not said anything to me."

Rodri then explained that Alves only wants to leave Sevilla to be able to test himself playing for one of Europe's elite clubs.

"The player wants to improve, with all respect to the fans and to Sevilla. He has already spent four years with the club and has rejected many offers," he continued.

"There will be a day though when he cannot do that any more."
