Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) Unveils Name, Logo, Website
BEDMINSTER, NJ (January 17, 2008) - Formally announced in September, the
much-anticipated women's professional soccer league launching in Spring 2009 now has a name, Women's Professional Soccer (WPS). The league also officially unveiled today the league logo and league website,

Sky Blue Soccer, an organization based in Bedminster, NJ, will run the New Jersey/New York franchise of WPS - one of seven initial teams. The other franchises include Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, St. Louis, and Washington D.C.
"We're very enthusiastic about finally having an identity for Sky Blue's professional women's soccer venture," said Thomas Hofstetter, President and CEO of Sky Blue Soccer. "The new league brand will be a powerful tool as we move ahead toward 2009 and the start of the league."

Sky Blue Home - Sky Blue Soccer. Sky Blue Soccer will be introducing the official name of its professional team along with the team's management and coaching staff in the upcoming months. Sky Blue also currently runs a team in the W-League of the United Soccer Leagues - Jersey Sky Blue - and will continue to do so in 2009 with that team serving as a development and feeder program for the professional team.
