No new Car for Roma Wednesday 2 January, 2008

The unsettled Andrea Caracciolo will not be leaving Sampdoria for Roma during the January transfer window.

The big target man has been linked with a Giallorossi New Year switch, but agent Claudio Pasqualin has insisted such a move will not occur.

“There has been absolutely no contact with Franco Sensi’s club,” Pasqualin told Teleradiostereo on Wednesday evening.

“It might be true that Roma Coach Luciano Spalletti needs a player with his characteristics, but I’m unaware of any interest.”

Although Roma have been ruled out as a possible destination, the representative has claimed that the city of Rome could still be a possibility.

“Lazio have already made their move for him, but I can’t exclude the option of remaining with Sampdoria.”

Competition for a shirt at Doria has been tough for the former Brescia man seeing as they have Claudio Bellucci, Vincenzo Montella and Antonio Cassano also on their books.
