People keep talking as if the influx of big money, foreigners etc are ruining the national team...it's not like England won everything before!

Since the increase in money there almost every top club has started a better youth system, since the introduction of big money players like Owen, Rooney, Scholes, Beckham, Terry, Ferdinand, J. Cole, A. Cole, Gerrard etc have been produced definetely not worse players than players from the past.

Since the introduction of big money and foreigners more English players play on a higher level week in week out and are as influential for the top 4 as any of the foreigners.

The reason English coaches aren't as good as coaches from different countries is that one:
Very few of England's top players over the years make the step into coaching and even fewer English players ever try playing in a foreign country to gain the vital experience of different football cultures and ideas!

Take a look at the best recent coaches England has produced, B. Robson was at Barcelona, Eindhoven, Lissabon. Hoddle had experience in France, M. Hughes who I think will be the best of the M. United managers played in Munich. Ray Wilkins who usually talks more sense than other experts had experience in a different country etc.

For me the problem isn't that there are too many foreigners in the PL it's that hardly any English players play in a different country most probably because they won't earn as much there. Apart from Italy just about every other nation has numerous players playing in foreign countries!

And the youth system in England isn't perfect (i.e. schools of excellence should start earlier than 12) but better than most other countries but the problem is that English players cost much more than foreigners and the English youngsters don't work as hard at their game as others because they are paid so much!

Bullocks - yeah alright mate

First Point: They try for there clubs because there clubs pay them £100k plus a week mate not the chicken feed match fee that they get for England.

Foreign players are good for our game and i don't argue with that but our top players are more interested in there profile they get from playing England rather than just playing for Engand.

What the frig have Spain, won? Holland have won only one Euro 88 and up and until last year the Italians won the World Cup in 1982. The only European country who can shout there mouths off are the French. They produce dynamic football and produce players who can cope with the pressure.

The players of this generation (Erikkson/Mclaren) are the best we have had since 1966-1970. The players have let themselves down. Stevie G being a perfect example being world class for the mousers and total shite for England.
