You make some good points but I absolutely refuse to be optimistic about anything to do with the England national team.
Who would you make captain then (I still reckon Rooney would make a good captain in the future but I'm not if he'd be a good choice ATM, other than him there aren't too many name to consider, Lampard? Gerrard? Ferdinand?).
