I think ur being pessimistic, probably the wise way to be considering what we've had to suffer recently tho.
BUT, I'm delighted with this appointment, because although Capello and Sven hold some similarities, they're very different characters. Capello is much more abrasive and will tolerate far less than Sven, and he instils a real work ethic into his players. I still don't buy all this uber-defensive stuff, I see it more as counter-attacking based on Real last season, they were scoring like 3 or 4 goals a game! and at this stage, even if it is really defensive football, tbh I don't care as long as the team is successful.
And as for English players being attack-minded and tactically retarded, they might be the latter but Capello probably won't tolerate that and will force it into them, and with the former idea, aren't Spanish/Brazilian/Argentinian players (who he dealed with last year at Real) supposedly even more attack-minded than the English?
Have faith, let's not jump to conclusions either way until we've seen him manage a few games
