Other than that there wasnt much more you could do. I remember seeing him going round the penalty takers against Portugal at the World Cup saying "pick your spot and hammer it" (or words to that effect), and no one really picked up on it but i thought it showed he was not this passion free dummy that he was made out to be and that he did have his head screwed on. If his players had listened to him we might have gone through to play France. and after all, it wasnt his fault Rooney got sent off, and Owen did his cruciates..

Yeah it was Ian Wright the muppet saying he dont pick SWP and he dont show any passion. What the hell is passion and it does not matter when taking a penelty shootout, ask Mourinho or Benitez that.

The Theo Walcott decision was a poor one but it was not like he had many options and i agree about Defoe he would have been useluss.
