Coly given three-match ban Friday 28 September, 2007
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ferdinand Coly of Parma has received a three-match ban for striking Cesare Natali in an off the ball incident.
The African defender was caught on camera elbowing Natali in the face as they waited for a set-piece to be floated in during the first half of the 2-0 win over Torino.
The referee did not witness the incident, but upon viewing the footage, the Disciplinary Commission ruled it was “an undoubtedly intentional gesture” deserving of a three-match ban.
Coly will miss the Serie A games against Udinese, Roma and Sampdoria.
Meanwhile, disgraced former Samp hitman Francesco Flachi’s (pictured) two-year ban for cocaine use has been upheld on appeal.
He tested positive for cocaine after the match at Inter on January 28 and the original sentence of 18 months was increased to 24 by the CAF.
Following the CONI verdict today, Flachi’s lawyers announced plans to lodge another appeal to the TAS in Switzerland.
