EPL: Tottenham v Derby (18.08)
Quote:
Tottenham and Derby will both have their sights firmly set on their first three points of the season, as the two sides meet at White Hart Lane.
Spurs are no strangers to upsets from Premier League new-boys after their opening day defeat to Sunderland, and after losing again in midweek, they will undoubtedly be looking to kick-start their season at Derby's expense.
Defensive worries
Martin Jol has been dealt an untimely blow after star striker Dimitar Berbatov picked up a groin injury, but his attacking selection headache will be eased with only Robbie Keane, Darren Bent and Jermain Defoe at his disposal.
Spurs' defence is looking increasingly limited, with Ledley King, Michael Dawson and Younes Kaboul ruled out, whilst midfielder Teemu Tainio is also sidelined.
Gareth Bale made a return to full training in midweek, but Derby's visit is likely to come too soon for the Wales international. Lee Young-pyo is available after making a comeback from injury.
Late fitness test for Davis
After their opening day draw with Portsmouth, Billy Davies' side fell foul to a rejuvenated Manchester City in midweek, but will be looking to add to Tottenham's woe and close in on their first victory.
Claude Davis faces a late fitness test for The Rams, after picking up a rib injury against Manchester City, but the Jamaican may be fit after scans showed there was no break.
American international Benny Feilhaber is set to make his first appearance in some capacity, after being granted his international clearance to allow him to complete his switch to Pride Park.
Derby remain without highly-rated midfielder Giles Barnes, who is still waiting on his first Premier League appearance due to a foot injury.
