Man Utd had injuries themselves such as Neville, Scholes, Hargreaves

Hardly worth comparing to Chelsea's injuries. No matter how you put it, Chelsea had more out. Terry, Robben, Drogba, Kalou, Ballack, Shevchenko, Maka, Kalou and Bridge. Then you consider Lampard who's slightly injured, but still can play.

Indeed. The best team won.van der Sar played world class today.

I hope his world class performance in the penalty shoot-out hides what a real problem you've got in the goalkeeper position.
Man Utd's defense still looks shaky, I think if Drogba were on, they'd have a tough time handling him. Rooney, did he play? Haha. C.Ronaldo had a mediocre game at best. I'm quite satisfied with Chelsea's performance. We played 51 minutes without a striker. Our defense looks able to cope with the loss of Terry, and with the impending addition of Alex, I'm confident that we'll be fine. I do have a few concerns however. I think we've really got to put in a bid for Alves. Glen Johnson and Ferreira are both decent, but I think that weakness in RB was really laid bare to see when United incessantly attacked it. SWP needs to work on his crossing, but I think he'll come good this season. Lampard must have been chatting with Rooney or something because he was non-existent. He's got to get back to his good form. The biggest problem with Chelsea though is our complete lack of creative play. That's largely due to the lack of a playmaker. We need someone creative who has a good range of passing and can put in those through balls when we need them. If we're going to stop playing 'survival football', then we've got to get a playmaker.
