Saints snare Safri
Quote:
Norwich City midfielder Youssef Safri has joined Southampton for an undisclosed fee.
Safri had been keen to quit Carrow Road and has been linked with a move to West Bromwich Albion.
But the Morocco international has agreed a two-year contract to move to St Mary's after spending three seasons with Norwich.
George Burley has been a long-time fan of Safri and the Saints boss is happy to add the midfielder to his squad.
Valuable addition
"I'm very pleased that we've signed Youssef as he's a player that I've admired for a long time," Burley told the club's official website.
"He's a good passer of the ball and a decent playmaker in midfield.
"He's an experienced player having played for Coventry and Norwich. He's also an international, so all in all he's a very valuable addition to the squad.
"He's not bad at set plays either, so there are a lot of aspects to Safri's game."
