Pandev eyes double figures Monday 30 July, 2007

Lazio striker Goran Pandev has set his sights on delivering another season of success to the Biancocelesti faithful, starting with 10 goals.

The capital club exceeded all expectations last term when they finished third and their overachievement owed much to the strike partnership of Pandev and Tommaso Rocchi.

The pair hit the net 27 times between them and were amongst Serie A’s most lethal combinations as the Aquile booked a Champions League berth.

“I want double figures again this year,” Pandev told Il Corriere dello Sport. “Rocchi can get 10 easily as he shows such good movement. It’s difficult to say how many someone like him can get.”

The Lazio faithful are eagerly anticipating the draw for the Champions League third qualifying round which takes place on August 3.

“The Champions League matches will be the games of my life because this season could change everything for us,” the Macedonian explained.

“We could climb up a level in the football worId. I can’t wait to play in the tournament.”
