Former Rangers and Newcastle United stopper Jean-Alain Boumsong could be on the way to Valencia - that is, of course, if Spanish newspaper AS gets it right for once...
Notorious Spanish sports daily AS claims that Juventus outcast Jean-Alain Boumsong could be on his way to the Mestalla.
The Frenchman arrived at the Stadio delle Alpi at the beginning of last season to ensure Juve's return to the top flight after their enforced relegation following the Calciopoli scandal.
Despite playing in most league ties, Boumsong failed to impress many at the Old Lady, and is set to be moved on before the summer's end.
Juve have strengthened their back line with the acquisition of Depor's Jorge Andrade, further hastening Boumsong's potential departure.
With new coach Claudio Ranieri apparently eager to rid himself of the former Auxerre man, Valencia - should their interest prove concrete - could yet land the defender for a low price.
27 year old Boumsong started his career with Le Havre, before moving to AJA. A free move to Rangers followed, prior to his big-money transfer to Newcastle United. He has 21 caps for the French national team.
It is thought that Boumsong could be tempted by a move away from Italy. However, Los Che seem set to first acquire the player on a loan deal, with a purchase option to follow later... if, of course, there is any truth in this latest AS rumour.
