Scholes to miss start of season
Reds midfielder Paul Scholes could be out for a month after suffering a knee injury on United's Asia Tour.
The 32-year-old has been sent home from United's pre-season tour of the Far East and will be undergo an exploratory operation to determine the extent of the injury.
"Paul felt his knee in the last game (against FC Seoul) and we've sent him home for an arthoscope to see what kind of damage there is," Sir Alex told MUTV.
"We don't think it is serious, but we will keep him out for about three weeks to a month."
That means the influential playmaker looks set to miss the start of the new season, which United begin at Old Trafford against Reading on 12 August
