Rivals In Bid For River Plate Keeper

According to reports, Manchester City and Manchester United are both keen to land Argentinean goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo from River Plate.

The player’s agent, Jose Alberti, recently said: “The player also has offers from Manchester United, Manchester City and Lazio.”

Manchester City will be keen to shore-up in the goalkeeper department after Nicky Weaver left the club for Charlton, after ten years’ service. But with the signing of Tomasz Kuszczak from West Brom, United may already have enough competition for Edwin van der Saar’s starting place.

Carrizo gained his first and as yet only cap for Argentina in April 2007 against Chile. He has also caught the eye of Real Zaragoza, Bayern Munich and and Steaua Bucharest.

from goal.com
two teams look realy serious about signing him: manchester united and manchester city.
in manchester city he'll be the first goalkeeper, as it seems. but in manchester united he would probably be 2nd or 3rd goalkeeper.

other teams were also interested in the argie, who had stood on argentina's goal only once, such as:zaragosa, bayern munich and syeaua bucharest.
