Norwich City have completed the signing of goalkeeper Celtic David Marshall for an undisclosed fee.
"I'm delighted to be bringing a keeper of David's calibre to the club," said Norwich boss Peter Grant.
"There was a lot of discussion between Celtic and Norwich. At one stage we didn't think it was going to happen."
The 22-year-old was on loan at Norwich last season but his season came to a premature end when he was injured in an FA Cup tie against Chelsea in February.
Celtic rejected an initial offer from the English club, who went on to secure Rochdale's Matthew Gilks.
But manager Grant insisted that he was still pursuing Marshall, who is keen for regular first-team football to rekindle his international career.
And after signing his man, Grant added: "He is a quality addition in a position which can earn you 10 or 15 points in a season."
Marshall was sent out on loan in January after being forced to sit on the bench by the form of Poland goalkeeper Artur Boruc.
Marshall, who made his Celtic debut in 2003, made 49 appearances for the Scottish champions.
In 2004 he saved a penalty taken by Ronaldinho in a Champions League match against Barcelona but lost his place to Boruc under Gordon Strachan.
A superb signing he is a highly talented goalkeeper and its a shock that we pulled it off
