Benitez confirms Torres bid

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has confirmed the club are interested in Spain striker Fernando Torres and revealed he is close to making some new signings.
Despite having funds available from new owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks, Liverpool have failed to make any significant additions to their squad so far this summer.
However, in recent days there has been increasing speculation of a £27million move for Torres and now Benitez has confirmed the Atletico Madrid man is a target.
