Fabio Quagliarella has insisted that he is committed to Udinese, despite speculation suggesting otherwise. “I am here to stay,” he stated.
The striker, who spent last season at Sampdoria in a co-ownership deal, landed in Udine after the Zebrette won the blind auction to secure the player’s services.
Rumours had led to speculation that the Bianconeri might cash in on the Italian international, but sporting director Pietro Leonardi declared that he would be going nowhere – which the player has backed up.
“The club has invested a lot in me and I can only say that I am honoured to wear this outfit,” said Quagliarella during his official unveiling to the Press.
“I want to stay here because this is a serious club, where I want to challenge myself and achieve important results,” added the former Ascoli man.
Quagliarella will play alongside Antonio Di Natale and Antonio Floro Flores and he believes they will do well together, despite their lack of experience.
“This is a young team but I know we can do good things here. We will adapt to the system – we are versatile strikers and we can do well,” concluded the ex-Blucerchiato
