We gave a host of players their first taste of high quality international play, we showed that we can overcome the loss of many vets (Pope, Reyna, Friedel...), we BEAT Mexico again - in perhaps the most dramatic of ways (comebacks in soccer are HUGE!) and we qualified for the Confederations Cup. I am very, very proud of this team and the talent pool we have developed. Though the soccer was not always pretty, the bottom line is the result..and we posted a "W" when we needed to. As we develop our technical skills (the USSF Development Academy will do wonders in that area), our skill and talent level will only improve. Bravo to the US National team...a very proud day for those who support you!

U-S-A!
Soccer in this country is getting better and better.

The past several U20 World Cups have shown the USA advance to the 2nd round. They finished in 5th place in 2003 and beat eventual champion Argentina in 2005.

Back in december our U17s tied Brazil's U17s twice.

Our mens national team have shown that they can play with the best teams in the world (Portugal and Germany in 2002 WC - Italy in 2006 WC).

The new developmental academies will work wonders. Instead of just having 40 kids go to Bradenton, hundreds will be able to train with top notch coaches in many different locations.

At the rate the USA is going, if we get the World Cup in 2018...why cant we win it?
