Looks like Udinese may end up owning him. But i don't trust "whispers" anymore
Quote:
Udinese to keep Quagliarella
Thursday 21 June, 2007
Udinese have insisted that they won’t sell Fabio Quagliarella if, as expected, they take control of his ownership tomorrow.

The club has been forced into a blind auction with Sampdoria to resolve his co-ownership status and it seems as if the Bianconeri have made a more lucrative bid.

Whispers claim that Udinese have offered £5m for Samp’s share and Doria have bid around £4.5m for the Friuli outfit’s half.

Those rumours have led to speculation that Udinese will then sell the Italian international to the highest bidder.

However, sporting director Pietro Leonardi has underlined that the former Torino and Ascoli attacker will be going nowhere.

“Our fans can stay calm,” he noted. “We are almost certain that our offer for the player is higher than Sampdoria’s valuation.

“If that is the case then I am telling our supporters to go and buy replica Quagliarella shirts because he is not transferable.

“He’ll play with us next season.”

Quagliarella, 13 Serie A goals last term, has been strongly linked with Manchester United, both Milan clubs, Roma and Juventus.

The English champions were rumoured to have already made Sampdoria a £10m offer last month.
