Reports in Italy suggest that Juventus are close to announcing the capture of Lyon midfielder Tiago.

The Portuguese star had recently stated that his time with the French Champions was over and official Marino Faccioli confirmed on Wednesday that the player was close to signing for the Bianconeri, as only a few details remained to be clarified.

Tiago is expected to sign a four-year contract worth £1.7m a season, while Juventus will pay Lyon around £11m for the player’s services.

The former Chelsea and Benfica man was a reported target for Milan and Inter as well, but negotiations had suddenly stalled after the San Siro outfits had presented their offers to the Ligue 1 side.

However, Juventus have seemingly won the race to sign the midfielder and an official announcement is expected shortly.
