Canaries confirm capture

Jon Otsemobor will join Norwich City on a free transfer on 1st July, Canaries boss Peter Grant has confirmed.

Skysports.com revealed last month that the former Crewe right-back had agreed a deal to move to Carrow Road after passing a medical.

Grant has now announced an accord has been reached on a three-year contract with Otsemobor and the deal will officially go through at the start of next month.

Norwich have won the race for the former Liverpool defender, who was thought to be attracting interest from a number of clubs.

Grant believes Otsemobor will turn out to be a valuable addition to his squad ahead of next season as he can play in a variety of different roles.

"I'm very pleased to get this one sorted as he is one that we have been watching for some time," he told First News.

"He is strong, athletic, quick and is a very good young defender.

"He still has a lot to learn of course but it's no surprise to me he was in the League One team of the year.

"He is versatile and as well as full-back can play centre-back or as part of a defensive three.

"I'm delighted to add a player of his quality to the squad."
