3-4-3 and 3-3-4 are not even close to eachother if played properly, because in a 3-4-3 (in Barca's case) the 3 up front is Ronnie-Eto'o-Messi and which allows for the midfield wingers to assume more defensive duties. In a 3-3-4 you have no defensive wing coverage at all.
And by the way, you lost to Liverpool overall and you only played that way because you had to win that game. It was a high risk formation for a must-win game. To me it's not sustainable, but as usual I might be wrong.
