Abbiatti to stay at Torino (one way or another):

AC Milan keeper Abbiati wants Torino stay
tribalfooball.com - June 11, 2007

Torino are set to thrash out terms this week with AC Milan over a new deal for goalkeeper Christian Abbiati.

Milan want £2.7 million for the Italy international, but Torino president Urbano Cairo will insist on another 12-month loan.

For his part, Abbiati says: "I'm happy. Playing for Torino has allowed me to return to the national team and the atmosphere there is very positive.

"Milan will always be in my heart, but the will is to continue with the Granata and to be part of an ambitious new team."

No surprise really; if he came back to Milan he'd be, at best, second in line behind Dida (and I wouldn't be surprised if he'd be third, behind Kalac) on Milan's very crowded GK bench. Obviously he'd want more play than that, so staying at Torino is a good move for him.
