Luca Toni has stated that he is ready to start his new adventure with Bayern Munich. “We want to return to winning ways.”

The striker is in Germany to complete his medical and sign his contract with the Bundesliga side, which will tie him to the Bavarian club until June 30, 2011.

“I chose to join this side because it is one of the most important in the world, it is not in Italy and it wants to return to winning ways,” said the ex-Fiorentina star.

“We will not play in the Champions League, but we will do all we can to return to that competition as soon as possible. This club is used to winning and that is what we will do again soon,” he told Sky Italia.

Toni underwent surgery on May 19 to solve a metatarsal injury in his left foot, but is currently working to return to full fitness.

“Everything is fine and the medical went very well, even if I didn’t understand what the doctor was telling me,” grinned the world champion.

“I was also told that I look fit, but that isn’t true. I guess in Germany they don’t have any televisions, they don’t know that I haven’t played in the last two months!” concluded Toni.
