Nashville Metros young guns

The returning “Young Guns” who were signed for the final month of the 2006 season, in addition to Kelly, include:

- Forward Michael Bolt, 19, a Hendersonville native attending Coastal Carolina University.
- Defender Jason Bristol, 19, from Franklin attending the University of West Virginia.
- Midfielder Dustin Dawes, 19, a Brentwood product now at the University of Louisville.
- Midfielder Fynn Glover, 19, of Chattanooga attending the University of Richmond.
- Forward Bryan Lowder, 19, a Brentwood native and teammate of Dawes at Louisville. He was the Gatorade Tennessee Player of the Year in 2006.
Newcomers to the Metros this year, in addition to Ahern, include:

- Jay Ayres, 20, another big, strong defender attending Belmont. He is a native of Valrico, FL.
- Patrick Carroll, 20, a defender from Dickson attending Tusculum College. He helped Nashville’s Father Ryan win a state high school championship in 2005.
- Eddie Gonzalez, a highly recruited 16-year-old forward from Lawrenceville, GA who has played in that state’s Olympic Development Program.
- Billy Hale, 20, a goalkeeper and former teammate of Ahern’s from Clayton State University in GA.
- Mete Ozkan, 20, a strong midfielder / forward from Sarasota, FL now attending Belmont.
- Jonah Stewart, 20, a midfielder / forward with great speed and acceleration. His coach at the University of Alabama – Birmingham called him “one of the best pure athletes playing soccer in the United States.” - Josh Stewart, the 19-year-old brother of Jonah, also from Birmingham. A high school senior who plays midfield, he is a regional Olympic Development Program player who has already committed to playing next year at the University of South Carolina
