Don't want too many transfers, best save the money. Also we don't need another player to come in and take 6 months to adapt. We've had two transitional seasons and there were quite a few transfer dealings that went on. Our players are fine and we're covered pretty much everywhere. It's our finishing we need to sort out and I'm not too keen on dishing out 250m for Torres.
I can see Ljunburg going and possibly Baptista. Ljunburg has been improving so I won't mind if he stays, especially with Alex's dodgy form. Freddie may not be able to conjur up wonders anymore but he can do a job. Apparently Capello doesn't want Reyes so I can see Bap heading back to Madrid and us selling Jose. Bendtner will take his place. IMO we should keep Freddie and at the same time buy a new winger as that winger will probably need up to 6 months to adapt. Freddie can do a job and if he hasn't improved we can sell him next season but in the mean time, his experience is too valuable to lose. We might not even need a new winger, I wouldn't mind Ali being played there.
A CB who can RB as well might come in handy, Richards and Anton are two players who come to mind but I would prefer Connoly to be given more chances.
Goalkeeper is an area I can see some major tiding going on in. Jens could go and possibly Almunia, Poom isn't good enough to be a regular starter IMO, a good goalie but I have my doubts about whether he can play at the top level consistently at his age. Also he isn't much younger then Jens. Mannone has seemed dodgy to me, dissapointed with the way his loan went. Butcher though is a player who I've heard good things about, apparently he's as good as Poom and 500 years younger. Wenger prefers experience in goal too and I'm not too keen on letting a youngster play in goal for us. It would lead to a few costly mistakes. So I say bring in someone like Given and then Poom can be our second choice and Butcher our third choice.
I can see some cleaning up going on in the middle of the park too. We'll have Denilson, Diaby, Cesc, Song, Muamba and Flamini who can play there next season. All those players have impressed on loan or at the club. I think it's safe to assume that Denilson, Diaby and Cesc will be staying. I'd also like to keep Flams who I rate for his work ethic. That leaves Song and Muamba which is a difficult decision as both have impressed me on loan. I can see Muamba leaving, it'd be similar to Stokes and Sidwell leaving. Both rated highly by Arsene but wouldn't've made it into the team, too much competition.
We're fairly covered everywhere else, loaded up front so there's no need for someone like Torres or Etto'o.
We've got Freddie, Theo, Tomas, Hleb and Ali who can play on the wings and in extreme emergencies then we can either push up Eboue or Clichy or play Henry or Robin there.
We'll have Gilbert, Eboue, Hoyte, Gallas and Connoly who can play as RB and Gallas, Hoyte and Connoly can play CB. Gallas can also play LB as can Flams, Clichy and Traore.
What we really need is to work on our finishing, if our current players can put the ball in the net we wouldn't have a problem. We need someone with confidence, slightly cocky. Someone who knows how good they are and knows how to use their talent. Someone who's strong mentally and won't let the media or fans pressure him, who won't be afraid to take chances. Someone with a bit of flair, preferablly a winger.
And for those of you who want Henry out... shame on you. IMO you are entitled to one bad season after giving us 7 years of magic. Henry has had no proper pre season and had to suffer the mental burden of losing the two biggest finals in football. Then there's the media hounding him, saying he's going to leave. Then there's the twat Domench using him for 90 minutes in a friendly. And after all that, he's never said no when asked to play for club or country. All the great players suffer a bad period. It usually follows or is before a great run. If titi has one more bad season then we can consider selling him.
