Energie Cottbus midfielder Timo Rost has pledged his future to the club by signing a new two-year contract extension.
Rost's current contract was not due to expire until June 2008, but the 28-year-old has now put pen-to-paper on a deal spanning until 2010.
"In Timo Rost we have managed to secure the services of one of the backbones of our team," said Energie general manager Steffen Heidrich.
"He is a player who will play an important role in our future."
Rost, who joined the East German club in 2002, said that he hoped to help the club 'establish itself in the Bundesliga in the medium term'.
