The 37-year-old retired from international football following the World Cup, and is now set to bring the curtain down on a club career that will have spanned 20 years by the time he hangs up his boots.
Speaking to German daily Bild, Kahn rejected rumours he could move abroad, insisting: "It wouldn't make sense any more. I will fulfil my contract here until 2008 at Bayern. Then I'll be 39, and it will be time to discard the shorts and turn to something else."
After [the end of] my career I will do nothing for a while, and recharge my batteries. I'm not thinking now about any farewell celebrations. The main thing is that I want to win the German title for the 8th time, and I want to win the Champions League again."
The zenith of Kahn's career came in 2001, when he captained Bayern Munich to victory in the Champions League, and was voted man of the match for his performance in the final, a victory over Valencia on penalties.
