Amelia claims Liverpool interest
Quote:
Livorno goalkeeper Marco Amelia claims Liverpool are keen on signing him.
Amelia is weighing up his future at Livorno with the club looking to discuss a new contract with the player.
Milan are thought to be pondering a move for the highly-rated custodian with Dida facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines for the Rossoneri.
The 24-year-old has admitted he will make a decision over his future in the New Year with Chelsea and Juventus also thought to be keeping tabs on Amelia's contract situation at Livorno.
"As for the contract renewal with Livorno, there have been talks between me, my agent (my father) and president Aldo Spinelli and everything is ok, but the sign will arrive in the New Year," Amelia told Sky Italia.
"Market ? It's true there is an English side and as far as I know Liverpool are the one who insist more.
Amelia admitted he was flattered to be linked with so many top clubs, but he conceded his dream move would be to rejoin Roma where he started his career.
"Milan ? Me and my father know nothing," added Amelia. "I'm happy to be linked to so many big sides like Milan, Chelsea, Liverpool and Juventus as someone says should Buffon leave.
"If Milan would like to sign me I think they would have to spent a lot of money and if they make this choice it will mean Dida will leave.
"My desire ? If I could choose I'd come back home, that's to say at Roma, but there is a keeper, Doni, who is doing really good things and it's true also I have interest elsewhere."
