Rafa Márquez completes nationalisation formalities (24 Nov 2006)
Mexican defender Rafa Márquez formally committed himself to upholding the Spanish constitution on Friday morning as the last step to obtaining dual nationality. Once the legal paperwork has gone through, he will have the status of a Spanish player.
The paperwork will now be sent on to the Spanish footballing authorities who will then register the player with Spanish status.
The Club will then have an extra place available for a non-EU player as from 2nd January, which is also the opening date for the winter transfer window.
