Peter Crouch has vowed to help Wayne Rooney get back to top form for England.

Rooney has been struggling in front of goal lately having failed to find the net since the opening day of the season.

Crouch is set to be partnered by Rooney for next week's clash with Macedonia as the Manchester United ace makes his return to the national side after suspension.

Liverpool star Crouch has scored six goals in Steve McClaren's three games in charge so far and the giant striker believes he can take some of the

"It is exciting to have Wayne back because he is a top player.

"I think we can form a good partnership if we are asked to. If I am picked to play alongside him, I will do all I can to take some of the burden from him.

"I don't think someone like Wayne Rooney needs any advice from me, but I think I have some of the qualities that will help to bring out the best in him. I am not just about scoring goals.

"I can create for others as well - just like Wayne can."
