Spurs v Portsmouth
Quote:
Portsmouth look to put Monday's defeat to Bolton Wanderers behind them when they visit Tottenham Hotspur. .
The clash gives Harry Redknapp's side the chance to jump back on track after suffering their first Premiership defeat of the season.
Kevin Nolan's strike on Monday at Fratton Park was the only goal conceded so far this term by Pompey, as the South Coast club have had a storming start to the new campaign.
Spurs, meanwhile, come into the contest on the back of Thursday's Uefa Cup first round, second leg success over Slavia Prague to reach next Tuesday's group stage draw.
The result is the only highlight of a season that has started poorly for Martin Jol's side, with the North Londoners having recorded just one league win so far.
Despite their current form, Spurs can take heart from having won their three home contests with Portsmouth, with Jol's side claiming both Premiership meetings between the two clubs last season.
Jol will hope his injury list clears up ahead of Sunday's encounter, as several key players missed Thursday's 1-0 second leg win over Slavia Prague.
Ledley King missed the Uefa Cup clash with a knee problem, but may be available to face Pompey, while both Jermain Defoe and Edgar Davids were sidelined with ankle injuries.
Right back Paul Stalteri may be available, despite a hamstring problem, but Anthony Gardner is unlikely to feature with hip and back problems.
Jol also remains hopeful that striker Dimitar Berbatov can overcome a groin injury before Sunday's game.
Redknapp, meanwhile, may hand a start to striker Tresor Lomana Lua Lua, as the Portsmouth boss looks for more firepower after drawing a blank against Bolton.
Veteran hit-man Andy Cole and summer signing Niko Kranjcar look set to join midfielder Manuel Fernandes on the substitutes' bench, with the trio still short of full match fitness.
One player not available for Pompey is Cameroon international Rodolph Douala after he picked up a tear in his hamstring.
