Dyer close to Newcastle United return
Kieron Dyer could return to action for Newcastle United Football Club at the end of this month.
The midfielder is undergoing rehabilitation to cure his long-standing hamstring problems, and manager Glenn Roeder is hoping to have the player available at the end of August.
"Kieron Dyer is having an extended period of rehab and is working really well at the moment, flat out," Roeder told the Sunday Sun. "We're not expecting him back at the training ground until the end of August, but we're monitoring his progress.
"It'll be around about the end of August when we really put all his hard work to the test when we get into the situation of playing him in games.
"We're really positive about him at the moment. We need him fit, if I could have him for 30-plus starts, that would be absolutely wonderful.
"We're pleased with the way it's going, there's nothing untoward to worry about.
"He should be back fully fit by the end of August/early September, and because of that level of fitness he will have, it shouldn't take him long to get back into the swing of football."
